There was an old woman who lived with six cats,
With wrinkles on their foreheads and huge ears like bats.
The cats were mad and they were bad but they were lots of fun,
And each day the neighbours watched as they played in the sun.
They couldn't help but laugh as the cats raced through the trees,
And jumped at the butterflies as they sailed on the breeze.
But these cats were raiders and the neighbours couldn't leave an open door
Or else they wouldn't find things where they had been left before.
If they left a roast out ready for their dinner that night
It would be stolen which to them didn't seem to be quite right.
Pens went missing. Ear phones and leads went too,
In fact anything that dangled or had an interesting tag would do.
The old woman collected the loot and tried to find the right house.
She scolded her cats, told them to play with their mouse.
But those six naughty cats continued to roam,
Causing havoc and bringing their stolen bounty home.
One day after finding a leg of lamb on her floor,
The old woman decided their high jinx wouldn't be tolerated any more.
She called in a builder and together they hatched a plan
And the very next day the building of a catio began.
Now those six naughty cats with their big bat like ears,
Play out on their catio and the whole neighbourhood cheers.
As the cats sit in the sun their heads are full of evil dreams,
They are collecting scissors and screwdrivers. I wonder what that means?

Rexmania is a very unusual kind of complaint
Where the sufferer loves cats that are different and quaint.
Be warned that once this disease has been caught,
Life can become rather frenetic and fraught.
For a person with rexmania one cat is not enough,
And those cats must have curls rather than loads of fluff.
These rexes will take over their life and their home.
No place will be safe. There is no Rex free zone.
A person suffering rexmania always has a rather distracted air
And in their lounge will be a cat occupying every chair.
No longer can they sit with a cat purring on their knee
It's way up on their shoulder their rex will want to be.
A Rex doesn't spend the day sitting quietly and looking sweet,
But will be constantly looking for trouble or something to eat.
So be very careful before you choose a Rex cat,
Because once rexmania strikes nothing can be done about that.
